The expert workshop at the University of Nigeria Nsukka will bring together a small group of academics and researchers from different disciplines for discussion and learning exchange on the topic of solidarity within the Igbo context. We hope to garner a better understanding of solidarity from different disciplinary perspectives within the arts, humanities and social sciences, and enrich our understanding of Igbo conceptualisations of solidarity through identification of examples of solidarity-oriented practices in ways of acting, exploration of knowledge systems and ways of knowing, and understanding how solidarity is grounded in ways of being, and what it means to be a person.
