Jae-Eun Noh

Dr Jae-Eun Noh is a research fellow at the Queensland Bioethics Centre with a professional and academic background in international development. Jae-Eun has published 21 journal articles, 1 book and 5 book chapters exploring development policies and practices from human rights and social justice perspectives. Jae-Eun’s recent publications examined emotions and ethics in aid and development (Community Development Journal, 2023; Development in Practice, 2023; Third World Quarterly, 2022), cosmopolitanism in the times of crisis (Thesis Eleven, 2022), and migrants’ transnational activism (VOLUNTAS, 2021). Born and raised in South Korea, she has actively worked with Korean civil society organisations, as seen in her recent collaborative research on rights-guided principles for sustainable development (Korea NGO Council for Overseas Development, 2023), vaccine justice (People’s Health Institute, 2021), and gender equality (Good Neighbors International, 2021). Jae-Eun also took part in a research project on ‘Catholic responses to family violence’ and ‘the role of faith in activism’ (Australian Catholic University, 2022-2023).
