Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Communications Officer to lead the development and execution of our communication strategy. This role will support the research uptake and engagement plan/ activities of our project, ensuring the effective dissemination of information across various platforms and to diverse audiences.

Duration: 1 year with three months probation (minimum 21 hours a week)

This role will support the research uptake and engagement plan/ activities of our project, ensuring the effective dissemination of information across various platforms and to diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive communications plan aligned with the project's research uptake and engagement strategy
- Coordinate the production of high-quality blogs and opinion pieces on topics relevant to project activities
- Oversee the creation of diverse media elements, including podcast series, videos, audio content, animations, and other multimedia outputs.
- Lead the creation and dissemination of communication and engagement materials such as newsletters, social media posts, and website content
- Support virtual communication and engagement activities with members of the Global Health Solidarity Network across multiple continents, ensuring effective collaboration and interaction
- Manage content schedules and work closely with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of all communications outputs.
- Prepare and present regular reports on communication activities, assessing outcomes and identifying areas for improvement.
- Provide support and mentorship to members of the communications team, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
- Perform other duties as required, consistent with the level of responsibility of the role
Qualifications and skills:
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related field
- Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills (experience in digital communications and social media engagement is desirable)
- Experience in multimedia production, including podcasts, videos, and animations
- Excellent organisational abilities
